Whenever we enter a relationship, we often wonder if it is the right relationship and if it has the potential to last. While each relationship is different and everyone is looking for different things, there can be some sure signs that you’ve found a relationship that is built to last. Here are five of those signs:

1. You Tell Each Other Everything

This sign is just as much about trust as wanting to share everything that happens to you with the other half of your relationship. You let them know the smallest details of your day and they share everything with you as well. More than that, you don’t need to fear them getting angry with you for saying the wrong thing or letting them know you ran into an ex. If you and your significant other tell each other everything, you just might have the one on your hands.

2. You Fell Completely Comfortable With Them

If you’re not completely comfortable in your relationship, you probably haven’t found the right one. The right relationship allows you to feel confident being yourself and gives you the opportunity to say how you feel without fear of judgement. If the person you are in a relationship with allows you to be completely yourself and you feel entirely comfortable, you are probably in a lasting relationship.

3. They Care About The People You Love

When you love someone, it’s also important to love the people that they love. Relationships can be torn apart if the family doesn’t approve or they don’t get along with friends and family. If your friends and family care about your significant other just as much as you do, it could be a great foundation for a long and lasting relationship. Likewise, if your significant other puts in an effort to get to know your family and friends, you have a keeper.

4. You Talk About The Future

Regardless of what your future holds, any lasting relationship considers where it will be in one year, two years, or even ten years. Although definitive plans don’t need to be made, when you’re in a relationship for the long haul, you’re considering a mutual life between the two of you. If you and your partner discuss future vacations, future goals, future cities to live in, and what you’re looking to get out of your life together, you are probably in a lasting relationship.

5. You Put Their Needs Above Yours

Your needs are important, but when you love someone, you find yourself trying to make them happy over your own happiness. If you find yourself making little sacrifices to make them smile, like going out of the way to buy your significant other’s favorite food or surprising them at work, it could be a sign that you’re in a lasting relationship. If your partner also goes out of their way to do things to make you happy, that’s an even bigger sign!

Each relationship is different and each couple has different relationship goals. But if you find that you’re in a relationship where you can be completely yourself, your partner cares about the people you love, and you’re always willing to make them happy, you may have found yourself in a lasting relationship.
