To prepare at home ,

  • Take one quarter of yogurt
  • One quart of organic whole milk
  • 2 tbsp of yogurt

Heat the milk until it foams up. Now turn the heat off and let it cool at room temperature. Add the yogurt only after the milk is considerably cooled at the room temperature. Cover the container with a lid and keep it in a warm place and where there is no moisture. Preferably, keep it in a warm closet. It takes about four to five hours for the yogurt to develop into a thick consistent form.

For Lassi you need:

  • One bowl of Yogurt
  • 1 cup of water
  • Few mint leaves
  • ½ tsp of black salt
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp grinded cumin seeds
  • Mix all the above ingredients in a blender for 5 minutes. Pour into tall glasses and chill. Serve chilled.

You can also add a few seeds of pomegranate, grated almonds  or even flax seeds on the top as a dressing. This dressing not only looks wonderful but is highly nutritious.
